Leadership Development – Abiola Oke

The need for leadership development should be evident to any company, not just those that practice direct sales but also those that don’t. There are some companies that do a fine job of providing training and support to their leaders, others have a lousy record when it comes to developing leaders. Abiola Oke, one of the cofounders of “leadership Development USA” has spoken out on this issue and offers some tips on how you can develop your own leadership skills.

Developing Leadership Skills Through Leadership Development Program

In a leadership development system that I have seen first hand in action, I have found that the most important ingredient to any successful program is to ensure that the leader is willing to accept help, and provide feedback when it is needed. This seems like common sense, but few people step forward and accept help and then do all they can to keep it from them. As an example, let’s say that you are a product owner who wants to create a new line of products. While you are doing your due diligence as a business owner, you come across someone who may have the ability to market your new line of products. If you do not have a strong enough belief in your own ability to market the new line of products, then you will want to strongly consider assisting them in their efforts. A strong leader will be willing to take the time and give the guidance that is necessary to help a fellow business owner develop into a successful salesperson.

I hope that you have learned something from this article. If you have not yet, I highly recommend that you review some programs like Abiola Osweiler and/or Dr. Dale Carnegie’s “How To Create a Great Leader”. There are many leadership development systems out there today, but if you’re looking for a leader who has taken responsibility and leadership development seriously, I would suggest checking out Dr. Dale Carnegie’s book, “The Art of War”. Leadership can be learned, and it can be developed. If you have an idea or desire to lead, then get out there and make it a reality!
